The Day the United Nations has “…invited all Member States , organisations of the UN, regional and NGOs and individuals to commemorate, in an appropriate manner, the International Day of Peace, including through education and public awareness…” ( Click here to read the full UN resolution. )

Pintura de Luis Athouguia no Paço da Cultura
No Paço da Cultura da Guarda está patente, até 10 de Maio, uma exposição de Luis Athouguia, intitulada "Visões Incorpóreas"

A Câmara Municipal da Guarda apresenta, na Galeria do Paço da Cultura, uma importante mostra de Pintura de Luís Athouguia, intitulada Visões Incorpóreas, constituída por um grupo de trabalhos de forte impacto visual, representativo da sua linha-mãe de produção actual, com uma temática que denomina Figuração Onírica, e por um vasto conjunto de desenhos aguados da série intitulada Imaterialidades.

A inauguração da exposição será no próximo dia 7 de Abril pelas 18h00.

A produção de Luís Athouguia reúne diversos motivos, sistemas de referência, normalmente transferidos da sua vivência quotidiana, e soluções formais que obedecem a um movimento centrífugo e uma pulsão de irradiação.

São pinturas de um simbolismo inquietante a que o tratamento da força cromática empresta uma dimensão nova e sugestiva, plena de matizes e leituras infinitas numa versatilidade que se move num território definido por trajectos de genuína inovação.

No seu processo de criação surgem elementos simbolizando firmamentos intemporais e transformismos matéricos que expressam uma relação com um léxico de dimensão fenomenológica, e fontes alegóricas de uma atmosfera de magia fervilhante.

Luís Athouguia nasceu em Cascais. É diplomado pelo IADE, Instituto Superior de Design, em Lisboa. Participou em relevantes exposições internacionais, Bienais de Arte, encontros de Arte Postal e integrou diversos grupos multi-disciplinares e plurinacionais de Artistas. Desde 1983 realizou mais de duas centenas de exposições (55 individuais em Portugal e Espanha).

Está representado em museus, instituições e importantes colecções nacionais e estrangeiras.

Foi distinguido com o Prémio Vespeira na Bienal do Montijo e o Prémio Internacional de Artes Plásticas “Valentín Ruiz Aznar”, Granada, Espanha.
